Kurt Hamrin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the game, Kurt Hamrin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jacobo Nores. Kurt Hamrin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Hamrin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Williams in the 10th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Kurt Hamrin came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Skövde AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Hamrin couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes in the game, Kevin Keegan fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Tomás Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 23rd minute of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Jerry Williams managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skövde AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerry Williams was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Xavier Zoido hit a great ball. Jacobo Nores stood somewhat misplaced when Kurt Hamrin came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 36 minute. In the 40th minute Kurt Hamrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute Skövde AIK were awarded a corner. Kurt Hamrin went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 47thth minute of the game Kevin Keegan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Pardo made a kick off. Dag Sillén made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Raul Venegas. In the 61st minute of the match Kurt Hamrin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacobo Nores showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Kurt Hamrin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurt Hamrin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Primitivo Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Williams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kurt Hamrin went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Jerry Williams's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 75th minute Kevin Keegan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 82nd minute of play. When Skövde AIK's Jerry Williams in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paraguay's goalie prevented a goal. Hector Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Jerry Williams sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Skövde AIK support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
