Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's Deilmison Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute of play. Birol Gezer hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deilmison Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Diaz in the 33rd minute of play. Deilmison Yashin came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bater Cuca in the 54th minute of the match. When Adriano Diaz fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's protests and gave Adriano Diaz a yellow card for diving instead. Adriano Diaz hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Birol Gezer took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Durval Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
