Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Uriel Ferrer did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant 6 minutes into the match. Lionel-Andrés Messi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Lionel-Andrés Messi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Lionel-Andrés Messi put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 36 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Lionel-Andrés Messi came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Paulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.

Defensores de Lombroso's Ovidio Jokin was substituted for Roman Riquelme. Lionel-Andrés Messi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Lionel-Andrés Messi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 60th minute, Juan Simon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Defensores de Lombroso's Godfredo Gau was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 75th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Defensores de Lombroso were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Godfredo Gau took the corner. Defensores de Lombroso's Godfredo Gau was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denis Paulin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 88th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Denis Paulin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes into the match, Lionel-Andrés Messi notched a goal, 8-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Amadeo Raebert in the 97 minute of the game.
