El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chumo Salces was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Chumo Salces had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the game, one of El Salvador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chumo Salces went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Valle Saron's Arí Saron. But to his dismay, Arí Saron quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Chumo Salces took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Saron in the 28th minute of the match. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chumo Salces's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 37th minute Arí Saron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Brian Chaverri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd minute Chumo Salces shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Fernandino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arí Saron took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. The audience was convinced that Chumo Salces's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 54th minute of the game.
