Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezar Nișu, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Lyon Olympique 69's Cezar Nișu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricardo Zorita. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. Cezar Nișu struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lyon Olympique 69. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Cezar Nișu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Cezar Nișu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ricardo Zorita came out and tried to block the shot, but Cezar Nișu slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 23rd minute. Emanuel Murărașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezar Nișu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Cezar Nișu made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cezar Nișu made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Cezar Nișu sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. If Cezar Nișu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezar Nișu in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Nișu in the 71st minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. One of El Salvador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lyon Olympique 69:s goal.
