The C.A.P.J. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Reyes should have stopped the shot. 13 minutes into the match, C.A.P.J.'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Abel Reyes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Karmel in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play forced C.A.P.J.'s goalkeeper Abel Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafin Criston in the 17th minute of play. C.A.P.J.'s Abel Reyes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liu Feng Jing got free with Julio Vera in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Serafin Criston in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Abel Reyes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Reyes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Karmel in the 43rd minute of play. Denis Karmel might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denis Karmel ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

C.A.P.J.'s Hernan Rosalio was substituted for Filip Oryniak. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafin Criston stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to C.A.P.J. getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Desiderio Kellenberger hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Felix Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Abel Reyes. That made the score 0-4 after 59 minutes of play. Abel Reyes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 65th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Reyes having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Liu Feng Jing's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. In the 70th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita scored 0-5 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abel Reyes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
