Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Zigmantas Gimbutas started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute, André Jordão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Braga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Aaron Barrios fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Aaron Barrios a yellow card for diving instead. Aaron Barrios kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas. But to his dismay, Zigmantas Gimbutas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Antonio Adán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 21st minute of play. In the 25th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Adán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Isidoro Sarmiento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Antonio Adán was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Antonio Adán showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 34th minute of play. During the 39th minute of the match Aaron Barrios completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aaron Barrios a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Aaron Barrios kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Marcos Cotilla successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Alex Cambeiro hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Panama's Dylan Sarmiento got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. SC Braga made a substitution. Geraldo Lucas replaced André Jordão. SC Braga's Stig-Åke Mattsson was substituted for Zigmantas Gimbutas. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 61st minute of play. If Stig-Åke Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the game, Dylan Sarmiento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Braga the free kick. After a rather tough play, Panama's Dylan Sarmiento got a free kick in the 69th minute. Geraldo Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Åke Mattsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Amado Parente's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amado Parente helped the player get up and apologised. Amado Parente hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Panama's Abraham Alguacil couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Braga. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute Antonio Cieri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Miguel Miralles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Braga the free kick. The supporters of SC Braga booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Miralles didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Stig-Åke Mattsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig-Åke Mattsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Cieri in the 94th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Antonio Cieri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. SC Braga were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Panama for a fine match.
