Enzo Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 31st match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Enzo Tavares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enzo Tavares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Paraguay booed when New Miran FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Calleri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Joel Velloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. The wind increased when Jonathan Calleri made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Calleri in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. Hector Covarrubias charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hector Covarrubias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. New Miran FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. After 80 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mauro Couto who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Xavier Zoido hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the game, New Miran FC's Natã Corrêa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The New Miran FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
