A very good chance. 5 minutes into the match, Curacao's goalkeeper Bruno Barrett had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerrie Kuijsten. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Troy Kennedy got a free kick in the 6th minute. Serge Fleur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Barrett having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Ágætis Byrjun's Gerrie Kuijsten slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bruno Barrett. That made the score 2-0 after 14 minutes of play. The corner led Ágætis Byrjun's Laurens Waterman to fire away a dangerous shot which Bruno Barrett despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Ágætis Byrjun getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Bertus Wagemakers hit a great ball. If Stanley Wallace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Gerrie Kuijsten dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bruno Barrett, 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerrie Kuijsten in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Barrett saved Curacao from getting behind. Bruno Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerrie Kuijsten in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute Gerrie Kuijsten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Boukjan Schalkwijk fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ágætis Byrjun's protests and gave Boukjan Schalkwijk a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Gerrie Kuijsten put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Barrett. When Rocco Owen fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curacao's protests and gave Rocco Owen a yellow card for diving instead. Gerrie Kuijsten's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Bruno Barrett skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 48 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Maurice Haydon came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerrie Kuijsten to strike the kick off in the second half. Bertie Johnson got a throw-in 53 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Lochlan Newman. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Gerrie Kuijsten put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Barrett. In the 63rd minute, Gerrie Kuijsten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ágætis Byrjun fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Gerrie Kuijsten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gerrie Kuijsten in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Barrett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gerrie Kuijsten spun around in front of the goal 69 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Curacao's goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Gerrie Kuijsten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Curacao's Bruno Barrett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 72nd minute Gerrie Kuijsten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rocco Owen hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Gerrie Kuijsten came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Ágætis Byrjun fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Ágætis Byrjun's Gerrie Kuijsten looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 84th minute, Gerrie Kuijsten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Barrett was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. There was no doubt that Ágætis Byrjun were the better team. Ágætis Byrjun's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
