Amerigo Melucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Lechat having to interfere. In the 12thth minute of the game Amedeo Baruffa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Lunatics of Arianrhod's Ettore Amadei got a free kick in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Amadei in the 18th minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Lechat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Melucci in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Lunatics of Arianrhod's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Vetter came free, but Adriano Fracassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Luka Le Tiec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, Amerigo Melucci got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adriano Fracassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florent Travers in the 39th minute of play. Davide Onori struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Gustave Lechat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lunatics of Arianrhod. 45 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Davide Onori came free, but Gustave Lechat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Bart Vetter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adriano Fracassi. Lunatics of Arianrhod's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bart Vetter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Lunatics of Arianrhod's Elia Liaci was substituted for Davide Onori. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Teinturier to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes R.C. Marseille got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Teinturier. Gustave Lechat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ettore Amadei in the 54th minute of the match. Gustave Lechat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elia Liaci's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Amerigo Melucci's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustave Lechat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in R.C. Marseille's zone, Elia Liaci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustave Lechat came out of the goal and Elia Liaci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Teinturier in the 70th minute of play forced Lunatics of Arianrhod's goalkeeper Adriano Fracassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Lunatics of Arianrhod's Bianco Di Paola got a free kick in the 80th minute. Ettore Amadei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Lechat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ettore Amadei in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustave Lechat saved R.C. Marseille from getting behind. In the 95th match minute, R.C. Marseille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Teinturier to maneuver through the defense.

R.C. Marseille were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lunatics of Arianrhod for a fine match.
