A collision led to Altamora FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Osvaldo Vasques hit a great ball. Idalécio Malafaia charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Idalécio Malafaia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Altamora FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Idalécio Malafaia hit a great ball. Dino Zoff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Vigário, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Eugen Boldur cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alípio Franco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 21 played minutes Altamora FC got a freekick which was hit by Idalécio Malafaia. After some careless play in the Altamora FC defense, Eugen Boldur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alípio Franco. The Altamora FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alípio Franco should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute, Valer Uduleanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alípio Franco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugen Boldur, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Altamora FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Boldur came free, but Alípio Franco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Vigário might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dino Zoff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Vigário ran back to his position shaking his head. After 43 played minutes Cormoranii -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Drăgoi. In the 45th minute, Nicolae Drăgoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 46 minutes, Manuel Vigário managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altamora FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Vigário was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Cormoranii -MM- were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Manuel Vigário made the kick off in the second half. Cormoranii -MM-'s Dino Zoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Vigário in the 52nd minute of play. Alípio Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugen Boldur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Vasques in the 74th minute of play forced Cormoranii -MM-'s goalkeeper Dino Zoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th match minute, Cormoranii -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costel Diaconu to maneuver through the defense. Vintilă Hălmăgeanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Alípio Franco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Costel Diaconu came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Cormoranii -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Costel Diaconu couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Eugen Boldur took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Alípio Franco to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Boldur in the 91st minute of play forced Altamora FC's goalkeeper Alípio Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes Altamora FC got a freekick which was hit by Rui Medeiros. Valer Uduleanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Cormoranii -MM-'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
