In the 12th match minute, FC ICEWIND DALE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Siniša Mihajlović to maneuver through the defense. The corner ended in Julio Alacuart almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC ICEWIND DALE's Emil Zawadzki did a great save. In the 18th minute, Guido Escobar fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guido Escobar in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emil Zawadzki saved FC ICEWIND DALE from getting behind. Sarracino Lastras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wladyslaw Brytka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, FC ICEWIND DALE's Cyryl Giejda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sarracino Lastras made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. FC ICEWIND DALE's Wladyslaw Brytka got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Julio Alacuart fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's protests and gave Julio Alacuart a yellow card for diving instead. Julio Alacuart hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute Wladyslaw Brytka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sarracino Lastras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC ICEWIND DALE were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guido Escobar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Mutu in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sarracino Lastras prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FC ICEWIND DALE's Patryk Ranowiecki got a free kick in the 60th minute. FC ICEWIND DALE made a substitution. Maksymilian Kajfasz replaced Patryk Ranowiecki. Guido Escobar might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emil Zawadzki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. FC ICEWIND DALE's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rey Northe ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 93rd match minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taurino Losantos to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Sarracino Lastras got control of the ball when Wladyslaw Brytka tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC ICEWIND DALE had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
