Spectators: 499 (Terracing: 375, Seating: 115, VIP seats: 9) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jaume Abechuco took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, River CBBA's goalkeeper Erubiel Abascal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Casimiro Galindo. 6 minutes into the game, Angelo Bertin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Erubiel Abascal. Angelo Bertin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaume Abechuco in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ariel Urbasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Casimiro Galindo hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Casimiro Galindo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Ariel Urbasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaume Abechuco's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Angelo Bertin kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Ubarna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Erubiel Abascal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When River CBBA's Jaume Abechuco, in the 27th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for River CBBA. The River CBBA fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when River CBBA's Jaume Abechuco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnoldo Ubarna to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Bertin in the 52nd minute of play forced River CBBA's goalkeeper Erubiel Abascal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Jaume Abechuco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lore Abajas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ariel Urbasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaume Abechuco succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 61st playminute. In the 64th minute, Arnoldo Ubarna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting de Gijón fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Jaume Abechuco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Ariel Urbasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting de Gijón's zone, Jaume Abechuco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ariel Urbasa came out of the goal and Jaume Abechuco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the match, Angelo Bertin notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of River CBBA's Erubiel Abascal. Erubiel Abascal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With his leg Ariel Urbasa managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when River CBBA's Jaume Abechuco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jaume Abechuco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Ariel Urbasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 86thth minute of the game Jaume Abechuco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Ariel Urbasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

For all the effort they put into the match, the River CBBA players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sporting de Gijón.
