Oliver Friggieri started the match with the kick off. A collision led to RED BLUE STAR getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Victor Răcănel hit a great ball. Mark Borg Xuereb kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Pompiliu Comarnescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Aquilina in the 17th minute. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Oliver Friggieri took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Pompiliu Comarnescu to make any attempt to save it. Templars FC's Oliver Friggieri got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Răcănel came free, but Nick Grech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Adam Aquilina came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adam Aquilina couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, RED BLUE STAR's Pompiliu Comarnescu got control of the ball when Lawrence Gonzi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pompiliu Comarnescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oliver Friggieri went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Aquilina in the 56th minute of play forced RED BLUE STAR's goalkeeper Pompiliu Comarnescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oliver Friggieri struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Pompiliu Comarnescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Templars FC. Mark Borg Xuereb kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Victor Răcănel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nick Grech, 2-1. In the 82nd minute, Ferdinand Pociu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Templars FC's Nick Grech got control of the ball when Nicodim Stancu tried to sneak it across the goal line. RED BLUE STAR were furious when Vintilă Ilie was red carded, 91 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 90th minute, one of RED BLUE STAR:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for RED BLUE STAR. After 100 minutes, Oliver Friggieri made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. RED BLUE STAR's Pompiliu Comarnescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
