An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovani Ramos in the 80th minute of play forced Thunderstorm Riders's goalkeeper Izydor Lerych to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nova Venécia-ES were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Thunderstorm Riders's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elivélton Teles took the corner. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Thunderstorm Riders eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
