With a little luck, ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Faustino Horado got control of the ball when Oscar Bruner tried to sneak it across the goal line. Colby Sherwood did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Faustino Horado 13 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Colby Sherwood kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Faustino Horado. That made the score 2-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 21st minute American Airlines were awarded a corner. Winfred Potter went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 44th minute, Dalton Priest hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Salomon to make the kick off. Faustino Horado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Winfred Potter, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Winfred Potter was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the game, Oscar Bruner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. American Airlines's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ the free kick. 80 minutes into the game, American Airlines's Colby Sherwood nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Faustino Horado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 84 minutes into the game, Winfred Potter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Faustino Horado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Gaspar Chuse fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's protests and gave Gaspar Chuse a yellow card for diving instead. Tod Werner made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Benjamin Pudes sent off a good shot on target.

American Airlines's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
