The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Tomas Illescas a yellow card for diving instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomas Vollmar made a kick off. Pankracy Malicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Thomas Vollmar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newcastle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Vollmar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Newcastle United made a substitution. Wawrzyniec Bator replaced Kajetan Kochniarczyk. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomas Vollmar's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Thomas Vollmar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Vollmar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. A throw-in in the 85th minute of the game was made by Zé Paulo Zonta with Marian Erland as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 89 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zé Paulo Zonta who took care of the corner kick.
