When Göran Östlund came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Hummerfiskarna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Göran Östlund couldn't finish the play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hummerfiskarna fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Hummerfiskarna:s Gottfrid Kullander showed great skill when he stopped Herald Van de Goor:s penalty. After 13 minutes, Sven-Åke Wickander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hummerfiskarna and the Suikerklontjes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 13 played minutes Hummerfiskarna got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Åke Wickander. Bryan Van Deuren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gottfrid Kullander having to interfere. In the 17th match minute, Suikerklontjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matias Gilis to maneuver through the defense. Yoachim Hauwaerts's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gottfrid Kullander firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Hummerfiskarna's Måns Eliasson got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes, Suikerklontjes's Herald Van de Goor shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gottfrid Kullander came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Suikerklontjes reached it. The supporters of Suikerklontjes booed when Hummerfiskarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernt Ersman didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Hummerfiskarna's Gottfrid Kullander got control of the ball when Yoachim Hauwaerts tried to sneak it across the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Josef Rits was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Suikerklontjes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hummerfiskarna the free kick. In the 31st match minute, Suikerklontjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josef Rits to maneuver through the defense. After 33 played minutes Hummerfiskarna got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Ersman. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yoachim Hauwaerts got free with Gottfrid Kullander in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bart Van de Velde in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gottfrid Kullander saved Hummerfiskarna from getting behind. In the 45th match minute, Suikerklontjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xander Caers to maneuver through the defense. Göran Östlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Suikerklontjes's Sammy Godts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Suikerklontjes from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute, Bernt Ersman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Kempenaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sammy Godts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Göran Östlund in the 59th minute. In the 62nd minute, Bryan Van Deuren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute Ryan Kempenaerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gottfrid Kullander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Åke Palmquist notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Suikerklontjes's Sammy Godts. Sammy Godts was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hummerfiskarna's Måns Deckbergh was substituted for Måns Eliasson. In the 81st minute of the match Herald Van de Goor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gottfrid Kullander showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Måns Deckbergh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hummerfiskarna's supporters rose to their feet, but Måns Deckbergh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sammy Godts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sammy Godts made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Göran Östlund sent off a good shot on target. Måns Deckbergh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sammy Godts having to interfere.
