In the 3rd match minute, Murcia Promesas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Galo Segura to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Murcia Promesas's Romo Cazorla got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After 5 minutes, Peter Wiltshire mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Murcia Promesas players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Memphis Grizzlies getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Peter Wiltshire hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Murcia Promesas's Desiderio Erosa got a free kick in the 11th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramón Grau got free with Gez Winship in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 23 minutes into the game, Dave Fleming cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Tancredo Griful was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Murcia Promesas's Tancredo Griful played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Wiltshire in the 26th minute of play. Dave Fleming took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tancredo Griful. Tancredo Griful dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Mauricio Bouzon lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Murcia Promesas:s Tancredo Griful showed great skill when he stopped Peter Wiltshire:s penalty. 39 minutes into the game, Memphis Grizzlies's Peter Wiltshire nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tancredo Griful made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Michael Kellaway kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When Ian Webb fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Memphis Grizzlies's protests and gave Ian Webb a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Murcia Promesas booed when Memphis Grizzlies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Webb didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Memphis Grizzlies's zone, Timo Palacios stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gez Winship came out of the goal and Timo Palacios tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Franky Van Der Elst left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Memphis Grizzlies fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 57th match minute, Murcia Promesas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramón Grau to maneuver through the defense. Franky Van Der Elst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tancredo Griful having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Murcia Promesas got a freekick which was hit by Galo Segura. Memphis Grizzlies's Patrick Borrowdale was substituted for Michael Kellaway. The supporters of Memphis Grizzlies booed when Murcia Promesas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Galo Segura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garry Nancy kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Tancredo Griful came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Memphis Grizzlies's Franky Van Der Elst. But to his dismay, Franky Van Der Elst quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 73rd minute Timo Palacios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gez Winship saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tancredo Griful made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Franky Van Der Elst sent off a good shot on target. Murcia Promesas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Franky Van Der Elst 78 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. In the 84th minute, Ramón Grau left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Murcia Promesas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Timo Palacios took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gez Winship. Gez Winship dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. Phillip Byfield kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Franz Henry in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tancredo Griful prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
