An unexpectedly hard shot by Stepan Holodovskiy in the 11th minute of play forced Libertadores's goalkeeper Hélio Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denis Lavrentev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Hélio Neiva made a huge save. 14 minutes into the match, Libertadores's goalkeeper Hélio Neiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Lavrentev. The crowd rose to their feet as Denis Lavrentev kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hélio Neiva. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. Libertadores's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Stepan Holodovskiy scored to the left of an out of position Hélio Neiva, making the score, 2-0. Hélio Neiva made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Denis Lavrentev sent off a good shot on target. Hélio Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stepan Holodovskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélio Neiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stepan Holodovskiy in the 28th minute of the match. Ricardinho Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Hélio Neiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergey Blynskih in the 33rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergey Blynskih got free with Hélio Neiva in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hélio Neiva came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by STORM's Denis Lavrentev. But to his dismay, Denis Lavrentev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 38th minute, Kazimierz Modrzewski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stepan Holodovskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Neiva having to interfere. Hélio Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stepan Holodovskiy in the 46th minute of play.

Libertadores's Hélio Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Lavrentev in the 53rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denis Lavrentev in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélio Neiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hélio Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Bolshakov in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Paulo Recife fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. STORM's Stepan Holodovskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Libertadores fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hélio Neiva should have stopped the shot. Cauã Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. STORM had played much better football throughout.
