Markus Fågel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Jan-Erik Tunberg struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polly Magoo Juniors. Polly Magoo Juniors's Markus Fågel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markus Fågel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Polly Magoo Juniors's Markus Fågel. Markus Fågel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Markus Fågel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After some careless play in the Polly Magoo Juniors defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Markus Fågel. The Polly Magoo Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Markus Fågel should have stopped the shot. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The supporters of Polly Magoo Juniors booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 50th minute the ball was on its way in behind Polly Magoo Juniors's goalkeeper Markus Fågel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Markus Fågel made a huge save. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Erik Tunberg in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the game, Gösta Bergman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Markus Fågel managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jan-Erik Tunberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Erik Tunberg in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute Polly Magoo Juniors were awarded a corner. Roy Johnsson went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 75th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Markus Fågel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. German Cibran's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. German Cibran helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Polly Magoo Juniors getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. German Cibran hit a great ball. With a little luck, Polly Magoo Juniors's Markus Fågel got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jan-Erik Tunberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Polly Magoo Juniors throughout the match.
