Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Benjamin Kreyenbühl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmílson Gaúcho in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Fire Devils got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Kreyenbühl. Odysseus Lindenmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Odysseus Lindenmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Fire Devils's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute Benjamin Kreyenbühl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Odysseus Lindenmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odysseus Lindenmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 35 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Odysseus Lindenmann came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmílson Gaúcho in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Fire Devils's Edmílson Gaúcho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Kreyenbühl in the 46th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Fire Devils's Zlatko Ibrahimović was substituted for Edmílson Gaúcho. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zlatko Ibrahimović to make the kick off. The throw-in from Primitivo Andino in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fire Devils's Samuel Giger. Zlatko Ibrahimović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Fire Devils's Odysseus Lindenmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Fire Devils from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Odysseus Lindenmann made a huge save. 64 minutes into the game, Dariusz Nalaskowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fire Devils's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 65th match minute, Fire Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dariusz Nalaskowski to maneuver through the defense. Zlatko Ibrahimović blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Odysseus Lindenmann made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Fire Devils's Zlatko Ibrahimović. But to his dismay, Zlatko Ibrahimović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Odysseus Lindenmann threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Odysseus Lindenmann made a huge save. In the 89th minute, Zlatko Ibrahimović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Fire Devils's Odysseus Lindenmann got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Sven-Arne Bengtsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fire Devils's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 92nd minute, Sven-Arne Bengtsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
