The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Joe Cowan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beechbrook FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joe Cowan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Costante Mendez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 7 played minutes Derribos F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Lluis Pareja. Joe Cowan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Costante Mendez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. When Beechbrook FC's Joe Cowan in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Derribos F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Derribos F.C.'s Estefan Cuadrado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Garry Caballero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Costante Mendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joe Cowan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costante Mendez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emmitt Robison went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Beechbrook FC's Augusto Artaldo got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute, Galeno Valdés ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Garry Caballero was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 43 minutes into the match, Derribos F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Joe Cowan came free, but Costante Mendez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Beechbrook FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joe Cowan made a kick off. The throw-in from Anaut Canyelles in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Beechbrook FC's Martin Bagley. Martin Bagley struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Costante Mendez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beechbrook FC. Emmitt Robison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costante Mendez having to interfere. Estefan Cuadrado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Garry Caballero having to make a save. Costante Mendez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Bagley's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Emmitt Robison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emmitt Robison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derribos F.C.'s Costante Mendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Derribos F.C. from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the game, Joe Cowan lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Costante Mendez. Emmitt Robison took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Costante Mendez. Costante Mendez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Costante Mendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmitt Robison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Beechbrook FC fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Beechbrook FC's Martin Bagley looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In a very dangerous position, a player in Derribos F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! In the 94th match minute, Derribos F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Estefan Cuadrado to maneuver through the defense. 97 minutes into the match, Joe Cowan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Costante Mendez, 1-8. Beechbrook FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
