When Ionică Martinaș came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the FC Valea Lotrului fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ionică Martinaș couldn't finish the play. Curacao's Bruno Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vintilă Stamatiu in the 23rd minute of play. When Gavril Zăreanu came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the FC Valea Lotrului fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavril Zăreanu couldn't finish the play. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vintilă Stamatiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With a little luck, Curacao's Bruno Barrett got control of the ball when Mugur Phoenix tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionică Martinaș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Vintilă Stamatiu came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Curacao's Bruno Barrett got control of the ball when Mugur Phoenix tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute Mugur Phoenix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Curacao getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Charles Cox hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, FC Valea Lotrului's Mugur Phoenix dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Bruno Barrett was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Marian Mereacre capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marian Mereacre really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 44th minute, Marian Mereacre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of FC Valea Lotrului booed when Curacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Cox didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kyle Davies was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vintilă Stamatiu in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Barrett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 54 minutes, Marius Ficsinescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Valea Lotrului's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marius Ficsinescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionică Martinaș, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th match minute, Curacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rocco Owen to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Troy Kennedy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Barrett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Ionică Martinaș put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Barrett. When the referee ended the match the FC Valea Lotrului players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
