Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play forced Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goalkeeper Alvaro Rudolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rudolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Alvaro Rudolfo did a great save. Evaristo Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Rudolfo having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Coritiba Foot Ball Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Eduardo Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rudolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute. Alvaro Rudolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. After 27 minutes Coritiba Foot Ball Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Alvaro Rudolfo did a great save. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 39 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Alvaro Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

In the 52nd minute Marquez Padolles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 53 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. When Thor Machado came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Coritiba Foot Ball Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thor Machado couldn't finish the play. Marquez Padolles kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. With a little luck, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Alvaro Rudolfo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Felix Montenegro played forward. The supporters of Coritiba Foot Ball Club booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thiago Machado went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If Thiago Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's attentive Márk Sári managed to snatch the ball when Primitivo Andino made a throw-in in the 78th minute of the game. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match.
