Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Peru's Julian Murillo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Sven-Olof Vestlund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CAN ERZURUM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Peru's Emmanuel Reyes quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Javier Zanetti, made in the 11th minute of the game. CAN ERZURUM's Joar Scheie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by CAN ERZURUM's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Julian Murillo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Joar Scheie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, CAN ERZURUM's Cássio Corrêa got a free kick in the 19th minute. Joar Scheie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 19th minute of play. CAN ERZURUM's Mehmet Şefik Karadağ was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rolando Noboa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joar Scheie having to interfere. Sven-Olof Vestlund scored 2-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 32nd minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joar Scheie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sven-Olof Vestlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Olof Vestlund got free with Rolando Noboa in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes in the game Emmanuel Reyes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Luz Tejedor. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven-Olof Vestlund was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of CAN ERZURUM booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuel Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. CAN ERZURUM's Aybars Demirci managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Emmanuel Reyes in the 56 minute of the game. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pan Wei Quan in the 62nd minute of play. CAN ERZURUM made a substitution. Arda Turan replaced Okanalp Doğu. In the 70th minute of the game Emmanuel Reyes made a throw-in which Milagros Fraga played forward. Joar Scheie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 72nd minute of play. Pan Wei Quan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. If Joaquin Prats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. CAN ERZURUM's Charles Puyol was substituted for Javier Zanetti. The throw-in from Cengizhan Soyurgal in the 86th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Joar Scheie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Tenorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute, Rafael Gallo made a precise shot to the right of Joar Scheie. CAN ERZURUM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The CAN ERZURUM players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
