The supporters of Paraguay booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gauthier Lepre didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Odysseus De Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the game, Matteo Gartenmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Lugano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. In the 16th match minute, FC Lugano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matteo Gartenmann to maneuver through the defense. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Lugano's Max Sevier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 24th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Pardo in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Max Sevier saved FC Lugano from getting behind. Max Sevier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Covarrubias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Max Sevier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 29th minute of play. The throw-in from Jose Sanz in the 31st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Lugano's Maximilian Buser. Max Sevier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavier Zoido's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Xavier Zoido put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Max Sevier. Juan Diego Tenorio hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Max Sevier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Paraguay booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximilian Buser didn't get a good kick on the ball. The wind increased when Jaime Pardo made the kick off in the second half. Max Sevier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Max Sevier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 59th minute of the match. Max Sevier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Lugano's Max Sevier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save FC Lugano from getting a goal against them. Hector Covarrubias struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Max Sevier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. Hector Covarrubias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Sevier having to interfere. Max Sevier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 69th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Lugano's Max Sevier got control of the ball when Jaime Pardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Max Sevier made a huge save. Paraguay's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
