Ralph Roeles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Karel Kimman got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan de Vlieger in the 32nd minute of play. Ralph Roeles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of play. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Lorenzo Cazalla lost his temper 47 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 47 minutes into the game, one of Mexico:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt Petersson in the 73rd minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Ralph Roeles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 76th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Lautaro Mancebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Kurt van der Laan. But to his dismay, Kurt van der Laan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. The Julias Rascals Apeldoorn players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
