Tom Misaki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but 脫scar Cordoba made a huge save. 脫scar Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro Mederi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tom Misaki struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. 脫scar Cordoba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A.Independiente. 脫scar Cordoba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tom Misaki in the 22nd minute. 脫scar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heigo Luiga in the 24th minute of play. Buford Lim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Bilintx in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Tom Misaki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tom Misaki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tom Misaki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but 脫scar Cordoba made a huge save. Tom Misaki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. 脫scar Cordoba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Misaki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but 脫scar Cordoba made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gij贸n's Atilano Feo got a free kick in the 37th minute. 脫scar Cordoba was a little too slow when Tom Misaki got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 41 played minutes Sporting de Gij贸n got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Crema. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Heigo Luiga in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 脫scar Cordoba saved Sporting de Gij贸n from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baldomiro Silvino during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, C.A.Independiente's Baldomiro Silvino got a free kick in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Heigo Luiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Bilintx got free with Buford Lim in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Misaki in the 54th minute of play forced Sporting de Gij贸n's goalkeeper 脫scar Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Buford Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saturnino Curcio in the 55th minute of the match. Venancio Emesto came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Buford Lim could save by the left post. In the 60th minute Tom Misaki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 脫scar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 脫scar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Misaki, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. A collision led to Sporting de Gij贸n getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Matias Bilintx hit a great ball. Sporting de Gij贸n's Mario Zanabria was substituted for Alejandro Rufo. If Heigo Luiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, C.A.Independiente's Tom Misaki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 脫scar Cordoba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting de Gij贸n's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bernardino Gonsalve was slow to take the kick. During this time C.A.Independiente's players had a chance to rest. Bernardino Gonsalve made a great header on C.A.Independiente's corner, it was just that Sporting de Gij贸n's 脫scar Cordoba managed to reach the ball for a save. After taking down the ball on Sporting de Gij贸n's corner Matias Bilintx fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Buford Lim quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, C.A.Independiente's Buford Lim got control of the ball when Mario Zanabria tried to sneak it across the goal line.
