With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saturnino Curcio in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Ceandro saved TIBURON F.C from getting behind. Emanuel Ceandro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Curcio in the 11th minute of play. Sporting de Gij贸n were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after TIBURON F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Saturnino Curcio took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Esteban Ekaitz managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. If Honorio Justin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, TIBURON F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Curcio came free, but Emanuel Ceandro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Ceandro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Curcio, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Emanuel Ceandro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matias Bilintx's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gij贸n's goalkeeper 脫scar Cordoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Honorio Justin. Emanuel Ceandro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Bilintx in the 26th minute of the match. Paco Sancho scored 1-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 脫scar Cordoba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Sporting de Gij贸n were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matias Bilintx was the one to do the kick off. Emanuel Ceandro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matias Bilintx in the 53rd minute. 53 minutes into the game, Sporting de Gij贸n's Matias Bilintx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emanuel Ceandro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Matias Bilintx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Emanuel Ceandro made a huge save. The supporters of TIBURON F.C booed when Sporting de Gij贸n was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Rufo didn't get a good kick on the ball. TIBURON F.C's Emanuel Ceandro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Bilintx in the 79th minute of play. Carlos Sa煤l Menem's late challenge caught a Sporting de Gij贸n's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Sa煤l Menem helped the player get up and apologised. Sporting de Gij贸n's Atilano Feo was substituted for Carlo Crema. With a little luck, TIBURON F.C's Emanuel Ceandro got control of the ball when Matias Bilintx tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diego Maradona in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Emanuel Ceandro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 88th minute of the match Sporting de Gij贸n got a corner. TIBURON F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gabriel Diaz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rune Fanstr枚m who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Emanuel Ceandro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Atilano Feo kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute of the match Verners Bodnieks shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but 脫scar Cordoba showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 94th minute, Diego Maradona made a precise shot to the right of Emanuel Ceandro. TIBURON F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sporting de Gij贸n had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
