Branislav Velchevski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 许明卫's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Sebastian Quirce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 14th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when 许明卫 got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Arnaldo Gabon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 played minutes Pan FC got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Jon. Pan FC made a substitution. Yasen Skenderski replaced Primitivo Laurendi. In the 45th match minute, Pan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Jon to maneuver through the defense. Gabriel Erramun hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Pan FC's Arnaldo Urtzi was substituted for 许明卫. The supporters of Pan FC booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Erramun didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elpidio Francis to make the kick off. Gabriel Erramun made in the 55th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Pan FC's Yasen Skenderski. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Miguel Prosperi got a free kick in the 55th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnaldo Urtzi in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Branislav Velchevski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 70 played minutes Pan FC got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Diegotxe. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús was substituted for Miguel Prosperi. Pan FC made a substitution. Sixto Raymond replaced Nelson Hawley. A collision led to Pan FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Rolando Diegotxe hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Esteve Cordarrel in the 75th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Rafael Dalmu. 76 minutes into the match, André Monclús dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sebastian Quirce, 0-1. Rafael Dalmu's late challenge caught a Pan FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael Dalmu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Rafael Dalmu hit a great ball. Arnaldo Urtzi struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Branislav Velchevski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pan FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Jon in the 94th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Quirce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Monclús in the 97th minute of play. The Pan FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA to win.
