After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Cezmi Gök stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Cezmi Gök tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezmi Gök in the 24th minute of play. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Cezmi Gök had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moises Fernandino to strike the kick off in the second half. Cezmi Gök took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. In the 56thth minute of the game Cezmi Gök who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Žydrūnas Pauža kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Rydberg came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tekin Batırhan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Valentin Rydberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita.
