Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 15 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel-Omar Santirso came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 21 minutes, Gabriel-Omar Santirso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arroyito FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel-Omar Santirso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Arroyito FC's Gabriel-Omar Santirso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Venancio Etor got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Marcos Cotilla managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Arroyito FC's Gervasio Unax fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rene Iratze could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 35th minute. Gabriel-Omar Santirso succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-0 in the 38th playminute. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Navarro Montoya having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Miguel Miralles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arroyito FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 44th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel-Omar Santirso got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel-Omar Santirso was the one to do the kick off. Venancio Etor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Carlos Navarro Montoya in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriel-Omar Santirso in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. After 64 minutes, Gabriel-Omar Santirso made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Panama's Marcos Cotilla tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel-Omar Santirso in the 67th minute of the match. Isidoro Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st minute of the match Gervasio Unax sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla skillfully saved the ball. In the 72nd minute, Gabriel-Omar Santirso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arroyito FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Arroyito FC's Moises Rojelio was substituted for Rene Iratze. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Etor, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 80th match minute, Arroyito FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miroslav Kvita to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute, Gabriel-Omar Santirso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. If Venancio Etor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Arroyito FC were the better team. Arroyito FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
