In the 18th minute Jeronimo Birila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Tadeo Gitano threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Patricio Costa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 21st minute, Ruperto Txomin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ruperto Txomin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. The supporters of Atletico Calamar Saavedra booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Serginho Silva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serginho Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bonifacio Naldo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Serginho Silva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 4-0. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 45th minute.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeo Gitano in the 52nd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Hernando in the 53rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Serginho Silva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 59th minute, Jeronimo Birila got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 60th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Hernando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeronimo Birila in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute Jeronimo Birila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serginho Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Silva in the 69th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bonifacio Naldo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tiburcio Llorian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeronimo Birila, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Jeronimo Birila in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Tomas Illescas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-1. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 94th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Atletico Calamar Saavedra fully deserved thier win.
