In the 2nd minute, Lázaro George hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Eate in the 4th minute of the match. After 7 minutes of play, River de Ramos Mejía's Maximo Eate made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Barrett was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stanley Wallace sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Curacao booed when River de Ramos Mejía was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Bertran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximo Eate, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Stanley Wallace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lázaro George in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Barrett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot by Maximo Eate from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Bruno Barrett's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 35 minutes into the game, one of Curacao:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Maximo Eate shot the penalty kick right outside the post. A collision led to Curacao getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Rocco Owen hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match, Lázaro George got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bruno Barrett was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. River de Ramos Mejía's Alberto Phelipe suffered a sore thigh after 43 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Kyle Davies's late challenge caught a River de Ramos Mejía's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kyle Davies helped the player get up and apologised. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro George, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as River de Ramos Mejía's Lázaro George slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bruno Barrett. That made the score 2-1 after 48 minutes of play.

The wind increased when Lázaro George made the kick off in the second half. River de Ramos Mejía's Nicanor Beltxe got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Ildefonso Madeo came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Lázaro George shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Stanley Wallace came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Curacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stanley Wallace couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute Maximo Eate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute, Lázaro George got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rocco Owen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Curacao defense, Nicanor Beltxe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Barrett. The Curacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Barrett should have stopped the shot. Bruno Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Eate in the 86th minute of the match. Bartolo Maju made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanley Wallace in the 87th minute of play. Rocco Owen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartolo Maju having to interfere. Bruno Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ildefonso Madeo in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Beltxe in the 93rd minute of play forced Curacao's goalkeeper Bruno Barrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rocco Owen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bertie Johnson during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 98 played minutes Curacao got a freekick which was hit by Bertie Johnson. 99 minutes into the match, River de Ramos Mejía's Maximo Eate sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruno Barrett narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Curacao's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
