With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Gustavo Pimenta in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play forced Mesere's goalkeeper Cai Fei Cheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Gustavo Pimenta in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
