After a defensive mix-up in Haiti's zone, Cauã Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noel Seide came out of the goal and Cauã Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Haiti booed when Garopaba F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cauã Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cauã Xavier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Noel Seide made a huge save. 22 minutes into the match, Garopaba F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Alphonse came free, but Orlando da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodney Emmanuel didn't quite understand what happened when in the 50 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Noel Seide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dante Jerano in the 93rd minute of play. In the 100th minute, Rogelio Urtungo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Garopaba F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0.
