Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Vito Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Vito Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vito Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 17th minute of play. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Dorian Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vito Vidal having to interfere. In the 35th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Alberto Tafalla put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Vito Vidal. Facundo Cadaval hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Dante Lacasa was a little too slow when Clemente Prestes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clemente Prestes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vito Vidal came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vito Vidal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lautaro Mancebo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 59 minute of play. Joel Gaona took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vito Vidal. Vito Vidal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. In the 66th minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Vito Vidal. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. In the 69th minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-7. After 72 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Vito Vidal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Vito Vidal in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Vito Vidal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience was convinced that Joel Gaona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vito Vidal was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Marcelinho Ramalho hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Dorian Nunes's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorian Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mexico booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vito Vidal made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Vito Vidal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-8. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
