The shot was a little too simple and Jonathan Ferrant could save by the left post. Arsenio Claus took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose Correa during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arsenio Claus's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. When Arsenio Claus in the 13th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Jonathan Ferrant kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The supporters of Salmiyah Power booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremias Ganix struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salmiyah Power. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lakhdar Guendouzs short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Boncho Vlúchkov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute of the match. Karim Bahari was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 46th minute, Jeremias Ganix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arsenio Claus to make the kick off. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 54th minute. When Leonard Bărnuțiu came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Salmiyah Power fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonard Bărnuțiu couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Arsenio Claus left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Salmiyah Power fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. The Salmiyah Power fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Salmiyah Power's Lakhdar Guendouz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Leonard Bărnuțiu hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The supporters of Salmiyah Power booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salmiyah Power made a substitution. Noureddine Adjani replaced Jeremias Ganix. After 75 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lakhdar Guendouz in the 77th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 84 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsenio Claus in the 88th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arsenio Claus's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Salmiyah Power's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
