Arvin Svanberg had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 8 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ma Yong Jun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rickard Lövkvist during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Arvin Svanberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ma Yong Jun having to interfere. Slawomir Majak's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Slawomir Majak helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Karen FC's Slawomir Majak got a free kick in the 30th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Karen FC's Slawomir Majak sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvin Svanberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Slawomir Majak made a kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Slawomir Majak in the 51st minute of the match. Ma Yong Jun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ma Yong Jun having to interfere. Karen FC's Ma Yong Jun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 64th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slawomir Majak in the 65th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bai Yan Feng, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 74th minute Arvin Svanberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karen FC made a substitution. Leo Öfverman replaced Seve Sevens. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of play forced Karen FC's goalkeeper Ma Yong Jun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 minutes, Luis Andino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Karen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador played a much better game than Karen FC and deserved their victory. The Karen FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
