The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Miromir Lerych had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sergio Goycochea. Sacro Balompié's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miromir Lerych was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a little luck, ACe Aimaro Juniors's Arturo Borubar got control of the ball when Apolo Peto tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Dariusz Ciborek fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ACe Aimaro Juniors's protests and gave Dariusz Ciborek a yellow card for diving instead. After 56 played minutes ACe Aimaro Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Juliusz Mios. Arturo Borubar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolo Peto, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Gaueko in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arturo Borubar saved ACe Aimaro Juniors from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Jeremias Gaueko put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Arturo Borubar. Sacro Balompié's Teobaldo Bernal was substituted for Jeremias Gaueko. ACe Aimaro Juniors's Marcin Maciejewski was substituted for Miromir Lerych. Sacro Balompié made a substitution. Gervasio Lidon replaced Aquiles Bieito. After having played for 77 minutes, Waldemar Watarz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ACe Aimaro Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Watarz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lorenzo Haimar kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The whistle blew for the end of the second half and the match was still tied. The players were able to take a short break before lining up again for extra-time.

Sacro Balompié were awarded a corner in the 112th minute after ACe Aimaro Juniors's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gervasio Lidon took the corner. Sacro Balompié's Gervasio Lidon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arturo Borubar in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to ACe Aimaro Juniors getting a freekick after 114 minutes play. Jerzy Lisewski hit a great ball. The first half of extra-time was a real thriller. Both teams had created chances, but they were still tied when the whistle blew. The players were able to take a short breather during the short break.

Everyone could clearly see that both ACe Aimaro Juniors's and Sacro Balompié's players was becoming tired in their legs when ACe Aimaro Juniors's Marcin Maciejewski did the kick off in the second half of the overtime. In the 118th minute, Filiberto Ireno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sacro Balompié fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the ACe Aimaro Juniors players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sacro Balompié.
