Tomas Berganza started the match with the kick off. Nedelcho Petlichkov charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nedelcho Petlichkov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th match minute, ЦСКА was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nedelcho Petlichkov to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute, Lyuboslav Popinski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belcho Hlebarov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Tomas Berganza put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Anzhelo Gerushin. Tomas Berganza scored 0-2 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anzhelo Gerushin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anzhelo Gerushin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by ЦСКА's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Abraham Alguacil was slow to take the kick. During this time Panama's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Panama's Abraham Alguacil to fire away a dangerous shot which Anzhelo Gerushin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of ЦСКА booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Barrios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belcho Hlebarov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Belcho Hlebarov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anzhelo Gerushin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Miralles, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 45th minute, Alex Cambeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's Ivelin Ananiev broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 56th minute of play forced ЦСКА's goalkeeper Anzhelo Gerushin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ЦСКА's Anzhelo Gerushin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 58th minute of play. Anzhelo Gerushin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 61st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toncho Súrbinski during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 64 minutes into the game, one of ЦСКА:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Panama. Abraham Alguacil stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Anzhelo Gerushin. 0-3. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Nedelcho Petlichkov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Belcho Hlebarov kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Anzhelo Gerushin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 76th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Panama's Anzhelo Gerushin threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Anzhelo Gerushin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jose Carita hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Anzhelo Gerushin made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Abraham Alguacil sent off a good shot on target. The ЦСКА fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Panama were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
