In the 8th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind HISPANO FC's goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 14th minute. From close distance Migúel Herrera pressed in the 2-1 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 17 minutes into the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Orestis Karnezis in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Orestis Karnezis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 62nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. After a rather tough play, HISPANO FC's Landon Gordon got a free kick in the 78th minute. The supporters of HISPANO FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 minutes of play HISPANO FC's Landon Gordon was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to HISPANO FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Landon Gordon hit a great ball. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 94th minute of play forced HISPANO FC's goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Orestis Karnezis made a huge save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The HISPANO FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
