The crowd rose to their feet as FRANK's Erling Vorland slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erling Vorland in the 21st minute. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Moraes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Hugo Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to FRANK getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Noah Flåten hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erling Vorland got free with Julio Vera in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hugo Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Mathiassen in the 42nd minute of play. After 45 played minutes FRANK got a freekick which was hit by Torjus Hansen. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Mathiassen in the 58th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Andino made in the 59th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cristian Sancho. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Hugo Moraes made a huge save. In the 66th minute, Erling Vorland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th minute of the match, Felix Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hugo Moraes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 71stth minute of the game Erling Vorland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hugo Moraes was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 1-3. In the 81st minute, Erling Vorland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Vorland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Erling Vorland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stefan Mathiassen scored 3-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Mathiassen in the 96th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
