Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Petr Čech came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Brokopondo's Stefan Bejrut. But to his dismay, Stefan Bejrut quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Allan Þrándsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Mauro Esteves made a huge save. After 14 minutes Brokopondo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jónsteinn Ásbjörnsson who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Jónsteinn Ásbjörnsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Brokopondo's Mauro Esteves did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Þrándsson got free with Mauro Esteves in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19th minute, Kristinn Ingimundarson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Krummi Þengilsson hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the game, Iceland's Kristinn Ingimundarson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mauro Esteves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The supporters of Iceland booed when Brokopondo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lech Felenak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristinn Ingimundarson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Kristinn Ingimundarson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Iceland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 48 minutes into the match, Iceland's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Bejrut came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Kristinn Ingimundarson made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Kristinn Ingimundarson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Esteves was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 62nd minute, Marbjörn Garpsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barnaba Blochowiak in the 68th minute of the match. Mauro Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristinn Ingimundarson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petr Čech came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Brokopondo's 정 남. But to his dismay, 정 남 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Mauro Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristinn Ingimundarson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Brokopondo's Petr Čech threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Barnaba Blochowiak, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 80th minute Kristinn Ingimundarson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Vélaugur Óskarsson advanced and headed the ball into goal, 4-2 in the 81st minute. Petr Čech was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Barnaba Blochowiak showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-3 in the 85 minute of play. Kristinn Ingimundarson took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mauro Esteves. Mauro Esteves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. Kormákur Baldursson charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kormákur Baldursson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 정 남 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Petr Čech made a huge save. Petr Čech made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when 정 남 sent off a good shot on target. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Iceland were victorious despite being under pressure from Brokopondo for much of the match.
