Friedemann Faber started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Friedemann Faber in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cevat Özkent saved Fenerbahçe from getting behind. 4 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Cevat Özkent had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anton Berghorn. Günther Heine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hıdır Horasan in the 6th minute of play. Cevat Özkent stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Friedemann Faber's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After 21 minutes, Kamuran Pekdeger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenerbahçe and the FC Oberbillig players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Fenerbahçe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kamuran Pekdeger to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Fenerbahçe getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Lefter Taşcan hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's Hıdır Horasan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Günther Heine narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Deniz Kuyas hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ali Orhan İlcan to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ali Orhan İlcan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Oberbillig's Radolf Trumpf got a free kick in the 54th minute. Fenerbahçe's Hıdır Horasan got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Günther Heine was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ali Orhan İlcan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 57 minute of play. Anton Berghorn blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cevat Özkent having to make a save. Anton Berghorn struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Cevat Özkent didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Oberbillig. Hıdır Horasan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Günther Heine skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Friedemann Faber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cevat Özkent having to interfere. 1-1 became the score in the 68th minute when Anton Berghorn elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ali Orhan İlcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Günther Heine having to interfere. If Deniz Kuyas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fenerbahçe eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
