Juan Sendoa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ertan Ucatekin in the 5th minute. After 7 minutes of play, U Craiova's Romeo Crețulescu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hıdır Taykara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Juan Sendoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neşat Öktürk in the 12th minute of the match. Romeo Crețulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Hıdır Taykara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ertan Ucatekins short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Juan Sendoa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Hıdır Taykara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horea Frumușanu in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fenerbahçe's zone, Călin Pamfil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hıdır Taykara came out of the goal and Călin Pamfil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U Craiova's Juan Sendoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sezgin Arslanşah in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Crețulescu in the 26th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Hıdır Taykara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the game, one of U Craiova:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sezgin Arslanşah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Juan Sendoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hıdır Taykara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Crețulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 43 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Sezgin Arslanşah came free, but Juan Sendoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

U Craiova's Denis Milcoveanu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alphan Dilhan in the 54 minute of the game. Romeo Crețulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Hıdır Taykara made a huge save. Romeo Crețulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Sendoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Atıf Polathan, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Ştefan Stârcea's late challenge caught a Fenerbahçe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ştefan Stârcea helped the player get up and apologised. Ştefan Stârcea kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Romeo Crețulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ali Atıf Polathan's late challenge caught a U Craiova's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ali Atıf Polathan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe's Ali Atıf Polathan got a free kick in the 71st minute. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Romeo Crețulescu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 77th minute, Călin Pamfil fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 80 played minutes U Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Udegbunam Ike. 81 minutes into the game, Ertan Ucatekin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Juan Sendoa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 85 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Atıf Polathan came free, but Juan Sendoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ertan Ucatekin during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeo Crețulescu got free with Hıdır Taykara in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alphan Dilhan hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. U Craiova's Călin Pamfil got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
