Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Deniz Kuyas started the match with the kick off. If Varol Yener had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Meric's Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan got a free kick in the 5th minute. Kürşat Üçer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deniz Kuyas, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. When Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Meric fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Meric's Cevat Özkent threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Ali Orhan İlcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kürşat Üçer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Orhan İlcan in the 22nd minute of the match. Ali Orhan İlcan took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kürşat Üçer. Kürşat Üçer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 30 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's goal looked a bit too open when İlbey Tokhan came free, but Cevat Özkent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cevat Özkent showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İlbey Tokhan in the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meric's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cevat Özkent breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute Kamuran Pekdeger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kürşat Üçer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cevat Özkent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan in the 41st minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Ali Orhan İlcan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fenerbahçe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meric the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Fenerbahçe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Orhan İlcan to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when İlbey Tokhan got free with Cevat Özkent in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Fenerbahçe's Cevat Özkent got control of the ball when Çetin Necip tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when İlbey Tokhan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Meric got a freekick which was hit by Tayfur Sadan. Kürşat Üçer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ali Orhan İlcan in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cevat Özkent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Deniz Kuyas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, İlbey Tokhan put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cevat Özkent. Meric's Kürşat Üçer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Meric from getting a goal against them. When Çetin Necip fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meric's protests and gave Çetin Necip a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Meric getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Çetin Necip hit a great ball. In the 85th minute Deniz Kuyas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kürşat Üçer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abbas Özan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mümtaz Tekgül hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Lefter Taşcan, 90 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Fenerbahçe getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Arkın Tayuk hit a great ball. In the 96th minute of the match İlbey Tokhan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cevat Özkent showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
