In the 4th match minute, Deportivo Mukenio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Rius to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Amaral in the 5th minute of play forced Deportivo Mukenio's goalkeeper Ismael Gimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ismael Gimenez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tião Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ismael Gimenez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião Amaral in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Deportivo Mukenio's goal looked a bit too open when Florin Stancu came free, but Ismael Gimenez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
