Jude Bellingham struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Luiz Gustavo Negri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atlético Mineiro. In the 33rd minute Diogo Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Diogo Nóbrega's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Maria Carvalho was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. 34 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Vasconcelos came free, but José Maria Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Nóbrega stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Clube Atlético Mineiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Maria Carvalho should have stopped the shot. Clube Atlético Mineiro's Ernani Mesquita was substituted for Romário Ronaldo. When Raí Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atlético Mineiro's protests and gave Raí Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. Ique Football Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
